Scott Dorsey Joins Board of Directors

We’re delighted to share some exciting news. Here’s the media release we sent out.

INDIANAPOLIS—Lessonly, the leader in learning automation software, announced today that Scott Dorsey has joined its board of directors. Dorsey is managing partner at High Alpha, a venture studio that conceives, launches and scales next-generation enterprise cloud companies. Previously, he was co-founder and CEO of ExactTarget. Dorsey became CEO of Salesforce Marketing Cloud after Salesforce’s historic $2.5 billion acquisition of ExactTarget in 2012. Prior to joining the Lessonly board, he served as an independent investor and advisor to the company.

“Scott is the mentor of a lifetime,” said Max Yoder, Lessonly’s co-founder and CEO. “We speak candidly, we debate, we hug it out, and repeat. It’s exactly what Lessonly needs. I cannot articulate how valuable Scott’s guidance has been for us.”

“As a longtime investor and advisor to the business, I’m thrilled to be officially joining the board of directors.” said Dorsey. “Max and his leadership team are super-talented and well-poised to transform the future of learning automation.”

“Scott brings more than a decade of software-CEO experience to the board,” said Yoder. “He knows how to scale teams without compromising on culture, and that’s exactly what Lessonly plans to do.”

Dorsey joins three existing board members, including Yoder, High Alpha partner Mike Fitzgerald, and OpenView partner Ricky Pelletier.

Lessonly doubled its headcount in the first quarter of 2016, from 17 to 34. The company will add 10 more positions by the end of 2016, with many of its current openings highlighted on its Careers page.
