Finding the right employee for your company is a time-consuming and expensive venture. What is the Onboarding Process?
Onboarding is the process of getting your new hires adjusted to the performance and social aspects of their new jobs as quickly and smoothly as possible. This can include simply taking the new employee around to meet everyone and having the new hire go through orientation. The onboarding process should start once the employee is hired and receives their employment packet. When onboarding is effectively done, it allows the new employee to hit the ground running.
In most industries, employees are destined to perform jobs and tasks different from their primary routine role. Based on the size and scope of your company, it may be a great idea to cross train your new hires in several roles. When you cross train your employees, they are much more likely to take the initiative to perform those other tasks outside of their primary line of work.
